Tactical Thursday -Greatest Battle Implement Edition

So, I did not make it to the range today. But I'll get to do that plenty next week. Write up to come on the abuse I'm about to subject my P-95 too.

But today was still a good day. But first a bit of back story. I like old rifles. I like old American military rifles. And no discussion of old American military rifles is complete without discussing the M-1 Garand.

So, my good buddy Dennis has an M-1 Garand. Purchased from the CMP. And I went with him to get it. And then we shot the hell out of it. Funny thing, as much as I love the M-1, being a left handed shooter, I find it awkward to run the weapon. But still, they are great old guns. Where as they shine a bit brighter than possibly deserved due to being the only 8 shot semi-auto in a five shot bolt gun conflict; the fact remains that the Garand killed a lot of America's enemies. And truly armed the Citizen Soldier who won the war after the small pre-war professional military held the line.

That day was also a couples round robin corn hole tournament. Cindy and I were paired up because Jackie was in Colorado or some damn place.

We put more thought into our uniforms than actual skill

But today, I went with another good Boy Scout buddy to the CMP. Fellow blogger Mr. Garabaldi made the purchase today. And I rode shotgun. It was a good day. Looked at old guns, talked grain weights with the CMP counter guy, and got a free lunch. Mr Garabaldi will have a better write concenring his gun soon.
